ProLyne™ metatarsal pads are manufactured from Technogel® an advanced self adhesive polyurethane elastic soft gel. They provide relief from pain and soreness by absorbing shock and adapt smoothly to the contours of the foot. ProLyne metatarsal pads are hypo-allergenic, self adhesive and reusable. Just wash in tepid water and detergent after use, allow to dry and then re-apply. Ideal for relieving the pain of corns, callous and ball of foot pain. Also for the treatment of pain from metatarsalgia, mortons neuroma and plantar fasciitis. Help to prevent the problems of sore feet, ball of foot pain and heel pain during walking, for runners, climbers, hiking and during sporting activities. Remove at night.
Gel callous and metatarsal pads can be re-used over many weeks and are particularly effective as they are adhered
directly to the skin mimicking the body's natural fatty padding
Prolyne gel is generally safe for diabetics to use as the adhesive properties of the gel should not tear the skin when the pad is removed. As the gel itself is sticky there is no added adhesive spread on the pad.

After suffering for many months with pain in my right foot, I was diagnosed as having Right 2nd metatarsophalangeal joint capsulitis associated with hallux valgus. As a ballroom and latin dancer at The Anthony Clifford Studio in Romford, it meant that I was unable rise onto the ball of my foot. Having had one cortisone injection, it relieved the pain to some extent, but I was still unable to dance without pain.
I was advised to use the Footcare Prolyne Self-adhesive Metatarsal Pads for cushioning. It took a few days to get used to the pad under the ball of my foot, I am now able to rise onto the ball of my foot without pain, although I cannot stay up on the ball for a length of time. I am wearing the pad all day, everyday, but when at home I sometimes take it off to give my foot a rest. I personally think that without the pad I would not be able to dance as often as I do. I sometimes get a bit of pain where the edge of the pad sits on the ball of my foot. Not sure if it is just my feet, but I think if it was shaped to go around the ball it would be a lot more comfortable. However I am not a professional and it may be that if it was shaped, it would not work as well.
Overall I am very impressed with the pads and think I will be using them for a long time to come.
