Toe Nail Fungus

A toe nail with a fungal (mycotic) infection can become thickened, discoloured and often crumbly. Topical treatment either as a cream lacquer or lotion can take up to a year with daily application. These medications are available on the advice of your Doctor or Pharmacist. If topical treatments are unsuccessful consult your Doctor for advice on oral treatment such as terbinafine. Clear Zal can be used daily to treat fungal infections of the toe nail

When using topical treatments it is advisable to thin the nail plate as much as possible using a nail file. A suitable file for this purpose is the ProLyne sapphire foot file. Only use the file on infected nails and clean well after use.
