Plantar FasciitisA fairly common inflammation caused by an excessive stretching of the plantar fascia (the broad band of fibrous tissue that stretches along the bottom surface of the foot from the heel bone to the forefoot). Pain can be caused in the heel, arch region and forefoot which sometimes lasts for several months. Very often plantar fasciitis can be caused by a sports injury or as a strain injury due to excessive running or walking. Rest and a suitable device fitted in your shoe are usually sufficient.
